I have mine mounted from the windshield to the left of the steering wheel. It has an incredibly firm grip of the glass. I’m confident I could hang from it with all my weight without it giving. And yet, it’s not at all hard to remove.
I will say that the suction is so strong that I would be a bit wary of mounting it to the vinyl dashboard. I’m worried I’d misshape it somehow.
It also hold on to my phone firmly, and it’s easy to get the phone in and out with only one hand.

lasted almost a year. 1 side of bracket NO longer clamps tight, so any phone is NO longer secured. build and neck/base seems to be manufactured well, but small spring may have snapped and can NO longer retract closed.
